Shannon Gaels LGFA held their AGM on Monday last and we would like to thank everyone that attended via Zoom. Following a welcome from out going Chairperson Lorraine McGreevy, Patricia Beirne read the secretary’s report in which she detailed events in the club in 2020. This report will be circulated to members in the coming weeks. Coaches, committee members and teams were thanked. Sponsors incuding Elphin Mart, The Landmark Hotel, Paddy Murray, Tracey Duignan., Loftus Insurance and James Egan were all acknowledged and thanked for their generosity to the club in the past year. Following reports from Treasurer, Marie Boyd, Registrar, Fiona Dunne and Covid Officer Sheila McHugh the new management were announced for all teams and the election of officers took place. The following are the officers of the new committee : Chairperson: Charlie Devaney, Vice Chair Oliver Donagher, Secretary Rosemary Casserley, Vice secretary Patricia Beirne, Treasurer Máire Boyd, Registrar Fiona Dunne, Covid Officer Sheila McHugh, Development Officer Aisling Creighton, Pro Leone Marron and Aisling Egan, Health and Wellbeing Nuala O Beirne, County delegates Charlie Devaney, Edel O’Dowd and players rep Emma o Beirne. These positions will all be ratified at club executive meeting this week. We wish all of them the very best of luck in the work. Massive thanks to Lorraine McGreevy for her hard work as chairperson for the past three years and we hope to have her back in the very near future. Also massive thanks to Patricia Beirne who had held the role of secretary for the past 7years.We are forever grateful for her quick response, wealth of knowledge and help in nothing is too big a question, as she steps down to her new vice role.
Congrats to Máire Boyd winner of €212  in our draw on Sunday night. JOIN OUR BOYS get €106 bringing their total to €475 for month of January.

National Club Draw tickets are on sale at the moment. This is one of our major fundraisers for the year. For just €10 you could be driving away in a new Renault Dynamic. Our leaders will be in contact with everyone this week.
Hope everyone is keeping well and keep safe. Our pitches and gym are still closed. We hope that our members are getting out and about to keep the mind and body active. Our steps challenge is going well with everyone doing their bit. We have reached our 4,000km already. As an incentive to keep active the club will put everyone into a draw that walks 150km by end of challenge on  3rd March. So keep moving.
Ellis Conway a young girl who lives in the parish is doing a fundraiser “Freezin for a reason” at the moment for Pieta House. If anyone would like to help her reach her target of €5,000, please go to her facebook page to donate, and well done Ellis on your wonderful initiative.
